We found the Breville BOV860BSS to be a capable oven that shares the same excellent build quality and Element IQ system as its bigger sibling. The question is whether the $50 savings over the BOV900BSS makes sense when you lose dehydrate, slow cook, and proof functions plus 0.2 cu ft of interior space. For most people, we recommend spending the extra $50 on the BOV900BSS. But if you know you will never dehydrate or slow cook, the BOV860BSS is still a top-tier countertop oven.
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro
We consider the Breville BOV900BSS the gold standard for countertop toaster oven air fryers. In our testing, the Element IQ system produced the most even toast and roasting results of any oven in this category. The 13 functions are not gimmicks. We used air fry, dehydrate, slow cook, and proof regularly. At $400 it is not cheap, but if you treat it as a replacement for a toaster, air fryer, dehydrator, and slow cooker, the per-appliance cost is reasonable.
