We found the Tristar FR-6998 to be a straightforward budget air fryer that does the basics well. It heated evenly in our tests, producing crispy fries and well-cooked chicken thighs at 200C. The 5.2L basket is generous for the price, fitting about 700g of fries per batch. It is not going to win awards for features or build quality, but at 65 EUR it is a reliable workhorse for daily cooking.
