We found the Tristar FR-6998 to be a straightforward budget air fryer that does the basics well. It heated evenly in our tests, producing crispy fries and well-cooked chicken thighs at 200C. We tested the FR-9037 as a compact budget pick for students and singles. At 45 EUR it costs less than a nice dinner out, and it delivered decent fries and nuggets in our tests. The 3.5L basket is right-sized for 1 to 2 portions, and the small footprint means it works in kitchens where counter space is at a premium. Just do not expect premium build quality or advanced features at this price.
