We found the ClearCook window to be more useful than we expected. Being able to glance at your food without pulling out the basket keeps heat inside and prevents the constant open-check-close cycle. The window does fog up slightly during high-moisture cooking, but for fries, wings, and most everyday foods it stays clear. If you are the type who checks on food frequently, this is worth the premium over the base Vortex.
