We tested the Duo Crisp as both a pressure cooker and an air fryer over two weeks of daily use. The real magic is the combo workflow: pressure cook chicken thighs until tender, then swap to the air fryer lid to crisp the skin. That two-step process produced some of the best chicken we have made at home. As a standalone air fryer it falls slightly behind dedicated basket models on crispiness, but the sheer versatility of 11 cooking functions in one appliance makes it hard to beat for anyone who wants to minimize kitchen gadgets.
Instant Vortex Slim 6 Quart Air Fryer
We think the Vortex Slim is the best value in the entire Instant lineup. You get the same 6 qt capacity and 1700W power as the standard Vortex for $20 less, and the slimmer profile actually fits better in tight kitchens. You give up the extra cooking modes of the Plus, but if air frying, roasting, baking, and reheating cover your needs, there is no reason to spend more.
