We think the EZ505 is one of the best mid-priced air fryers in Europe for people who want grilling capability. The grill plate is not a gimmick. We got visible grill marks on chicken thighs in about 18 minutes at 200C. The 4.2 L basket works for 2 to 3 people, and the 8 presets cover most common foods. We consider the EZ801D the best single-basket Tefal for families of 3 to 5. The 6.5 L capacity is the sweet spot between the 5 L Max and the 8.3 L Dual. We fit a 1.2 kg whole chicken with room to spare, and the 1700W element browned it evenly in 35 minutes at 200C. The grill plate is a genuine upgrade over models without one. At 150 EUR or 1899 SEK, it is priced between budget and premium, which feels right for what you get.
