The 3.8L capacity works well for one or two people cooking everyday meals like chips, chicken, and vegetables. We think the Ninja DZ401 is the upgrade pick over the DZ201 if you regularly cook for 4 or more people. The removable divider that converts two 5 qt zones into one 10 qt MegaZone is a practical feature we used more than expected. The extra $20 over the DZ201 is well worth it for the added capacity and flexibility.
